Parents Should Convey Children to Schools or the Government?

It is proposed by a few people that it is the duty of the government to convey students to their schools,  while some oppose this opinion, disputing that it is the parents' responsibility to do so. While both notions may have some justifiable reasons, I suppose it is more of the parents' duty to do so, than the governments'.

Many believe that the role of the government is to protect citizens of any age group, as well as foster the security of all. Owing to the incessant cases of insecurity in some countries, people believe that it's safer if governments take over the transporting of children to their various schools with adequate security systems. For example, the unabated abductions and constant massacre of people lately have been a cause for alarm in Nigeria, making it hard for some children to attend schools.  Therefore, some suggest that the rising issue could be surmounted if the government take over this role.

On the otherhand, a vast majority proposed that parents are in the right position to transport their children to school due to the generally-held belief that no one can look after a child well enough than his parents. Parents also believe they can look after their children to the best of their ability, regarding the government as not the ideal one for the role.

In conclusion, while the reasons for each opinion could be logical to some extent, I would opine that parents should take responsibility for this role. When they convey their children to school  they would be assured of their safety and well being. In contrast, when governments are obliged to do so, parents could be prone to anxiety and fear, especially as a result of the appalling state of the country in recent times. However, the government also have a partial responsibility; that is, they should ensure the safety of children being transported to schools by dispatching adequate security agencies and installing a number of Closed Circuit TV on routes that lead to schools.
