Home Education as the Most Effectual Form of Education
An increasing number of parents in some countries give their children home education instead of a formal, class room education. From my perspective, the benefits of this trend are quite numerous, and outbalance the downsides, if any.
Education is a teaching and learning process; the process of imparting and acquiring knowledge and skills. It is indispensable in the lives of all, and every child is entitled to a sound education.
School education, a formal type of education, has been a comparatively common form of attaining Western Education over the years. However, this does not imply that it is infinitely better.
Home school, which is now commonly practiced by multitudes of parents across continents, is a form of education given to a child at home. In this situation, the mother is the teacher, while the child is the learner. The mother creates an ideal environment for her child to learn, deploying a teaching style and technique of hers. I feel this is a quite compelling , logical way of giving a child education, most especially in the initial stages of a child's life.
The family is a child's first agent of socialization. The first adults he interacts with while growing are his parents; hence, he has the tendency to pick up things more easily while learning from them due to his acquaintance with them as well as their teaching method and tutoring style.
Giving a child a 'home education' is vital, in that it creates a suitable environment for a child to learn. Home schooling is not only teaching a child at home, but also creating a homely, safe, conducive atmosphere for a child’s learning to take place.
In addition, parents understand their children better, so detecting a child's weakness and challenges in learning will, undoubtedly, be an easy task for them. Furthermore, home education improves effective communication and good rapport between a mother and her child. It promotes love and understanding, and sets room for knowledge to thrive. Moreover, home schooling a child gives parents the opportunity to train the child their own way, most especially to the best of their ability, which most teachers in school may not do.
In conclusion, with the aforementioned benefits, it could be justified that home school is infinitely better than school education.
